The need for social virality and cultural relevance has been growing at an exponential since the invention of social media platforms such as Youtube, Instagram, Vine, and Facebook. While short viral clips of cats and physical humor rain supreme for a short time being, the most seen videos on the internet are music videos.
My goal was to develop a web service that would categorize the most watch music videos and distribute out their pertinent statistical information to be access and utilized for content creators. Are there patterns to virality? Are songs becoming longer in length or faster in beats per minute? Are more female or male artists breaking the top 100?
The logo was derived from the typeface 'Heave' designed by Austyn Benyak. The wider forms were characteristic of a viral design trend at the point that this project was create to reinforce the ideals behind virality.
