In the spring of 2024, I began a poetry show called That’s Poetic!! Open Mic. I’ve been reading poetry in Chicago and Washington, DC for several years and I always made notes of the storytelling events that were and weren't successful, and why.
After enough time, I decided to start my own. For me, one of the most important elements to any show was advertisement. I wanted each show to feel unique and related. I’ve reinvented the brand several times to keep everything fresh, but my goal has stayed the same - design posters I would stop and look at for an event I would want to attend.
Each feature reader is shown center stage and in full color. Each poster follows the energy of each reading; smokey, celebratory, angry, passionate…etc.
You’ll also find posters for several cabaret shows, art markets, and fundraisers I have hosted and performed in.
